american food

Spent the August long weekend at my sister's place in Seattle. It was a family affair - 5 adults, 3 kids, and one dog squeezed into a cozy Wedgewood bungalow.

My healthy eating plan lasted 30 minutes - exactly the time it took to drive from the border to the Cinnabon at Bellis Fair, with its siren song (siren scent?) of hot, fresh buns and cream cheese frosting.

Some of the weekend's highlights:

Cinnabon Cinnamon Buns (2)
Buttery, salty, hot Giant Pretzels
Costco-sized bag of Tortilla Chips, with homemade salsa
Grilled Pork Burritos with Chipotle Sour Cream
Half a slab of Penuche Fudge, from Seattle Centre
2 bags of Dove Caramels
Taco Del Mar combo deal (2 Lemonade refills)
Pizza, Pizza, and more Pizza
Hot Dogs (not the veggie kind)
Pop
Plum Cake (homemade) - 3 pieces for breakfast
Ice Cream. Lots.
Many elaborate Coffee Drinks (cha ching)
Sangria (from a box), with Lime
Pinot Grigio (from a bottle)
A bowl of Cinnamon Puffins in Whole Milk (from my nephew)
Hershey peanut butter Kisses (from my other nephew)

Urrrrp.

Feelin' a little white and squishy, to say the least.
